When Betsy first came to me asking if I could shoot her wedding, I couldn’t have been more excited! I have actually known Betsy since we both went to Texas State University, and although we didn’t hang around with a lot of the same people, I always thought of her as a super sweet and cool person to be around.
We scheduled a coffee date about six months before the big day and that’s where I got to meet Josh for the first time! As soon as I saw Betsy and Josh together, I could definitely tell that they’re the real deal. Both of them just radiate happiness when they’re together and it’s so freaking cute. 🙂
Their wedding day was on leap day of this year (2020), and boy, it was perfect timing! (More on how COVID-19 changed everything just a couple weeks later in a separate blog post.) While it was a little chilly, and quite windy, it was still a beautiful, sunny day and great for an outdoor wedding at Gingerland Ranch!
Betsy and Josh got ready as guests arrived and began to take their seats in the nice fresh air. Josh’s mom helped him get his boutonniere in place while Betsy’s mother and grandmother helped her get in her dress. It was such a beautiful moment!
The ceremony was short, sweet, and to the point, but still filled with personal touches of tradition that were meaningful to them and their family. Betsy and Josh also wrote their own vows to each other and they adorably made each other laugh the whole way through.
The sunset brought us to a wonderful start of the reception. That golden hour was absolutely perfect!
The fun didn’t stop there though. The rest of the evening was filled with dancing and singing. There was even a special karaoke session from the bride and groom!
To wrap up one the best weddings of 2020, Betsy and Josh had an impromptu last dance followed by a beautiful sparkler exit.
Betsy & Josh’s wedding was definitely one for the books! I couldn’t have asked for a better day to end the Spring 2020 wedding season. 🙂
